Cajun Shrimp, I’m Not Really a Waitress and You Don’t Know Jacques. …The name on the bottom of a bottle of OPI nail polish can sometimes be more colorful than the shade itself.

The North Hollywood-based company, known for a vast range of hues with unforgettable names, has opened ROB/B, its first nail salon, which offers manis, pedis, Murad facials and massage treatments. The new space sits on a busy block on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, right next door to a Christian Audigier boutique, but with none of the Hollywood flash of its next-door neighbor.

The two-story salon has six semi-private manicure stations, two pedicure stations, private VIP rooms for massage and facials and an airy rooftop patio for private parties or group events. If you’re in a rush or can’t spend the $30 on a full manicure, there is a “nail bar,” where you can get a mini-manicure for $18.

The prices here are higher than those at many of the hundreds of other nail spots that pepper L.A., but ROB/B has every OPI color, old and new, and has been built as an eco-friendly, completely green structure. “OPI, at end of day, is a chemical company, so we wanted to give back and create a safe environment where we could,” says salon owner Robbie Schaeffer.

Schaeffer’s father, George, is president of the company, and his aunt Suzi Weiss Fischmann is the artistic director, traveling the globe for color inspiration and coming up with all the quirky nail polish names.

The newest collection is inspired by South Beach with six shades that range from an eye-popping pink called Feelin’ Hot-Hot-Hot! to a pinky-red Miami Beet.

Luxurious spa pampering and bright sunny nail color — it’s the closest thing to a relaxing vacation a lot of us are gonna get for a while.
