Giving breast cancer the boot

Nine West has partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America to raise awareness and funds for the CFDA’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer charity. The footwear brand has created limited-edition military-inspired boots (as worn by models Coco Rocha, Jessica White and Lisalla Montenegro, from left above) equipped with pedometers to track how many steps participating models take during New York Fashion Week in September -- from shows to castings to fittings. (Hint: a lot.)
Each step will equal a pre-determined monetary donation by Nine West to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (we don’t yet know how much per step). The boots (without pedometers) will be available nationwide for $199 at www.ninewest.com.
Finding a cure for cancer one step at a time. That’s worth a longer runway.
