Will anyone really dress up for Blogger Prom? Debating whether this growing subgroup of Angelenos -- whose normal work style can be anything from pajamas to office casual attire that won’t wrinkle after nine hours at a computer -- will follow through with their ‘prom’s’ attire is like wondering if anyone actually will show up for a Jon Stewart rally. Turns out the answer seems to be yes on both accounts.

The second annual Blogger Prom, an invite-only soiree Wednesday night for about 100 established members of this social-media loving set and their guests, required an Old Hollywood dress code befitting its classic Tinseltown locale, Yamashiro restaurant. High on the hill overlooking the city, the expansive Japanese-themed space was built before talkies ruled. The ladies, many of whom probably already had ‘Mad Men’-style attire in their closets, took the dress code seriously, donning lace gloves and ‘50s party dresses or long gowns with plunging necklines. Some wore feathered headbands or added finger waves to their hair to emulate Veronica Lake. While there were some escorts in tuxes or smoking jackets, more of the men seemed more comfortable in a casual suit accented with a fedora or top hat.

Despite a giant screen showing a TweetDeck full of attendees’ 140-character thoughts on the evening, some did look up from their smart phones long enough to pose for photos. Above are some of our favorite looks from the evening, courtesy of photographer Heather Kincaid. Here are some more pictures from the event.
