Berenice Bejo’s makeup artist Julie Hewitt (who also did the makeup on “The Artist” as well as “The Descendants”) said she channeled a modern day Audrey Hepburn and chose not to compete with the mint green color of Bejo’s Elie Saab dress.
“I wanted to keep everything very fresh, very Berenice, very natural,” said the makeup artist, who added that Bejo’s not a big fan of foundation and if she could walk out the door with just a few swipes of mascara, she would.
Hewitt started the look by applying Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Skin Tint in #002, and Diorskin Nude Concealer #002. Cheeks were dusted with Diorblush in Passion Fruit. Bejo’s eyes were lined with a black liner a la Hepburn and her lashes defined with Diorshow Blackout waterproof mascara.
The lips reflected the subtly rosy hue of the cheeks. Hewitt used Dior Addict lipstick in Beige Perfection with a lip liner called Spicy Pink. “This is not just any makeup or Oscars,” said Hewitt of creating Bejo’s Oscar beauty look. “I worked on the movie and was there from day one.”
