This here’s my leg: Angelina Jolie among Oscar best, worst

Angelina Jolie, presenting awards for best original screenplay and best adapted screenplay, drew praise as well as condemnation for her right-leg-exposure stance at the Oscars 2012 ceremony.
Tweeters who thought her too thin told her to ‘eat something’ and asked ‘what kind of role model is she to her children.’ Elsewhere, the gam in the spotlight was called ‘sexy’ and ‘toned.’
Jolie’s leg even spawned its own Twitter feed overnight.
Times fashion critic Booth Moore was in the yay, rather than nay, column -- as far as Jolie’s gown was concerned, rather than her arguably awkward right-foot-forward stance.
Moore said Sunday that Jolie’s black velvet Atelier Versace gown, slit thigh high, was smoldering and high drama and a red-carpet winner.
Not faring so well on the red carpet?
Kristin Wiig looked like she was wearing fluffy skin. Her nude-colored chiffon J. Mendel gown was a washout, Moore said. Wiig is fond, though, of flesh tones. At the Golden Globes on Jan. 15, the ‘Bridesmaids’ actress wore a gown cut nearly to the navel that was just a shade peachier than her Oscar dress.
Glenn Close also was in the foul column rather than fair with a ‘mermaid-meets-businesswoman ensemble, as Moore put it. Close, as well as Rose Byrne, wore black, and neither made a splash. White was a big color for Oscars 2012, and it’s arguable who wore it best.
Here’s a vote for Miss Piggy. And kudos to ‘The Muppets’ star for having already worn the Zac Posen gown. Kermit looked great too.
