A walk-a-thon to raise awareness on the dangers of childhood obesity will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at L.A. Care’s Family Resource Center in Lynwood. The walk-a-thon is part of L.A. Care’s Kid Healthy campaign, targeting 4th- and 5th-graders in low-income schools, that focuses on educating children about the importance of physical activity and healthy eating.

In addition to the walk-a-thon, cooking and fitness demonstrations will be held, and attendees will be eligible for prizes.
