A demonstration on cooking healthful foods on a shoestring budget will be held Sunday at Superior Grocers in Los Angeles. The event is sponsored by Network for a Healthy California to help people learn to include more fruits and vegetables in their diets. The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will showcase Champion Moms, women who will share their stories about making healthy lifestyle changes for themselves and their families.

The day will include educational sessions, food demonstrations, advice from registered dietitians on grocery shopping and free blood pressure and diabetes screenings. Superior Grocers is at 8811 S. Western Ave. The event is free.
