The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have posted a warning on its website cautioning people against responding to phishing e-mails claiming that they must register personal information to be eligible to receive a vaccine against pandemic H1N1 influenza. Some of the messages say people must register whether they want to receive the vaccine or not.

The CDC does NOT require any registration on the Internet to receive a vaccine, and any e-mail suggesting it does is a fake that is looking for personal information that can be exploited illegally, the agency said. The agency warned against following unsolicited links or responding to unsolicited e-mails and cautioned against visiting websites that are unknown.
