L.A.’s ‘oh boy’ oboist, Ariana Ghez, makes Playboy list

Playboy has a poll on its website asking ‘readers’ to vote for ‘the sexiest babe of classical music.’ (Rest assured, all of the musicians are fully clothed.) Not surprisingly, opera singer Anna Netrebko and violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter made the list. But one name jumped out at us: Ariana Ghez, principal oboist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Ghez was included in an L.A. Times story by Chris Lee last year about young musicians in the L.A. Phil.

Personally, my L.A. Phil pick is Esa-Pekka Salonen or assistant principal cellist Ben Hong, but I guess that’s for another poll, another publication.
