Rumors that the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has landed a great big collection of textiles may be coming true.

The museum has yet to formally announce that it will get part or all of a spectacular trove amassed by former LACMA curator Mary Hunt Kahlenberg, including rare works made as early as the 15th century. But sources tell us that at least some of her treasures will join the museum’s collection and a new list of upcoming LACMA exhibitions includes ‘Five Centuries of Indonesian Textiles: Selections from the Mary Hunt Kahlenberg Collection,’ to be shown in two rotations, Sept. 18 to March 15 and March 29 to Sept. 13.
