You never know what changes will come on Cahuenga these days. Last night, I stumbled upon a Fashion Week-related party at the soon-to-open Bar Delux. The man who designed the stunning, Art Deco- inspired bar, Spacecraft‘s Kristofer Keith, said last night’s private, invite-only event was the debut. The Gothamesque bar won’t officially open until later this month (a media preview is tentatively scheduled for the 27th, with a public opening in the days following). The upscale, sophisticated lounge will likely wow bar-hoppers in the area, who are more used to less-opulent offerings such as the Beauty Bar.

Bar Delux is a glimmering beacon of Deco heaven, with striking chandeliers, a massive emerald stained-glass mural that features a large blimp, airplanes, buildings and rows of city smokestacks. But what the ladies might be talking about at Delux once it debuts is the womb-like glamorous red bathroom upstairs, which looks straight out of the 1920s.

Speaking of Cahuenga changes, just down the street from Bar Deluxe, Ecco looks likely to debut by the end of the month (although they were still deep in construction mode Wednesday). Co-owner Danny B is also involved with the pizza restaurant in between Bar Delux and L.A.’s first ‘green’ bar (Ecco), which is also set to debut around the end of the month or early November.

Finally, one of the bars that put Cahuenga on the map for Westside and Orange County-based clubbers is accepting offers from prospective buyers. Keith, who designed the (now closed) former hotspot Goa said he has put in his own offer on the space, and that he wants to put in an upscale Mexican restaurant inside 1615 N. Cahuenga. But nothing will happen inside the space until 2009. In the meantime, Keith is at work on transforming Karma coffeehouse at 1544 Cahuenga into an upscale beer bar and burger spot which may be called Stout.
