K2 in Silver Lake nears completion

Sure it was loud and the music was often bad, but Eat Well in Silver Lake was one of the largest and most affordable restaurants to enjoy brunch on Silver Lake’s Sunset Boulevard brunch strip. When it closed a few years back it was sorely missed.
It also left a huge, empty piece of real estate in its wake. Fortunately that’s about to change as its successor -- a restaurant called K2 -- nears completion. It’s not news that the owners of Kokomo Cafe own the space and that they were planning a sister restaurant to Kokomo -- rumors about the place and its name have been circling for quite some time now. But now that much of the construction is completed, it’s possible to get an idea of what the space might look like.
Passersby on Saturday stopped to peer in the large front windows, now framed with dark, paneled wood. The interior is primer-white and has yet to be decorated, but it appears to follow the same elongated layout plan that Eat Well did.
Reps for the restaurant don’t have a solid opening date but share the following:
The restaurant is a sister to Kokomo Cafe and will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu will consist of some Kokomo classics like Catfish & Eggs and the signature coffee cake. The dinner menu is being finalized this week so I don’t have exact food items but there is certainly a New Orleans influence.
