Cue the unnerving music.

The unknown is coming. The foreign, the strange, the … Detroit Tigers!

Interleague play begins Friday night when the Tigers come to Dodger Stadium for a three-game series.

This will be the Tigers’ second visit ever to Dodger Stadium. They’ve met once at Comerica Park.

And that’s it. Otherwise they’re strangers on a ballfield.

‘These are the toughest games for our staff to prepare for because we don’t see these guys,’ said Dodgers manager Joe Torre. ‘It’s an eerie feeling going into these series because you really don’t know a lot.

‘You get reports and watch them on TV, but unless you play on the same field with them it’s really tough to have that comfort of necessarily knowing who you want to pitch to or not.’

The Dodgers will start Chad Billingsley (4-2), who has never faced the Tigers in his four-year career.

Dealing with the unknown wasn’t a pleasant experience for the Dodgers the last time they met the Tigers in 2008 in Comerica. The Tigers swept the three-game series.
