Joe Torre is starting to shake his head, starting to arch the eyebrows and accentuate that hound-dog look of his every time he’s asked about interleague play.

Looks like he’s going to be asked about it a little more.

The Dodgers just can’t seem to beat their American League rivals this season. It’s German tanks vs. Polish cavalry. One-sided as Tommy Lasorda vs. spaghetti.

It was just more of the same Tuesday as the Dodgers opened a three-game series at Anaheim, the Angels rallying for a 6-3 victory that left the Dodgers with their eighth consecutive interleague loss.

The Dodgers are now 2-8 against AL opponents this season and assured of a losing interleague record. They have two left against the Angels and then three this weekend against the Yankees.

The Angels are now 4-0 against their Southern California rivals this season. They’ve taken particular delight in beating them in Anaheim. The Dodgers are 13-25 all-time here, their worst record in any major league park.

The Dodgers have lost eight of their last 10 overall and fallen three games back of the Padres into third in National League West.

Tuesday had actually started promisingly for the Dodgers. They rediscovered some modicum of an offense, Andre Ethier snapping an 0-for-18 skid with an RBI single and James Loney’s hit driving in a second run in the third. Matt Kemp hit his first homer since June 1 in the fourth, and the Dodgers were enjoying a 3-0 lead.

With Clayton Kershaw cruising, it looked like it might be enough.

Kershaw had allowed only one hit through five innings when he gave up a three-run homer to Bobby Abreu in the sixth. The Angels scored three more times in the seventh.

Kershaw (7-4) gave up consecutive two-out singles, before struggling Ronald Belisario (4.76 ERA) gave up a pair of run-scoring hits.

And the Dodgers had suffered their latest interleague defeat.
