Two more surfers have suffered shark bites in a popular surf spot in Mexico about a half-hour’s drive from Zihuatanejo. One was a longtime surfer and expat living near the surf he loves to ride. As happened last time, Mexican authorities are struggling to figure out how to halt the attacks. They fear they will dampen enthusiasm among surfing tourists who prowl the world in search of sun, warm water and perfect waves.

Bruce Grimes, an American who runs a surf shop in Zihuatanejo, was chomped on his arm, according to the Associated Press.

This was the third attack in Mexico following a high-profile fatal attack on a triathlete who was swimming in the waters off San Diego County.
