Inspired by Salinger’s toilet -- which was listed for sale on EBay for $1 million -- Jacket Copy decided to see what other literary-ish items are currently for sale on the site. What we discovered? The doozy dozen. The first of our 12 favorite non-book literary oddities currently for sale is the Russian Ernest Hemingway lapel pin. The Cyrillic text really does say Ernest Hemingway.

The Gertrude Stein stein, for beer or coffee, with Alice B. Toklas perched on the handle.

If you’re concerned about getting sloppy while drinking from the Gertrude Stein stein, you might consider wearing this handcrafted ‘Harry Potter’ adult bib. ‘This stylish large sized bib is ideal for any individual who wishes to protect their clothing from accidental spills while enjoying a meal,’ the seller writes. ‘The adult size bib is approximately 32’ long and 19’ wide (81 cm x 48 cm) and features a catch all pocket at the bottom approximately 8 1/2’ (22 cm) tall.’

The 1949 Hi-Life yearbook, from, I think, Shillington High School in Pennsylvania. John Updike is pictured twice; he would graduate in 1950. The seller also lists yearbooks that include authors Toni Morrison and Raymond Carver, singer Tom Waits and actress Sigourney Weaver.

Albert Camus beaded earrings: the perfect accessory for the day you’re thinking, ‘Should I kill myself, or have a cup of coffee?’

A 1958 LP of Dylan Thomas reading his poetry. Is there an iPad for playing vinyl yet?

Actor David Niven reads George Orwell’s ‘1984’ on cassette. See iPad app crack above.

The handcrafted Sherlock Holmes finger puppet is also a refrigerator magnet.

A to-scale dollhouse miniature of ‘In Cold Blood’ by Truman Capote. For the little girl whose dollhouse is crying out for a true story of murder in the heartland.

An ‘American Psycho’ belt buckle, in tribute to the book by Bret Easton Ellis. Sure to impress the ladies.

The ‘Twilight’ series toilet sticker set. To go with your ‘Twilight’ wash cloth, handmade ‘Twilight’ shower curtain, ‘Twlight’ soap....

The Jack Kerouac alarm clock. Because nothing says it’s time to get up and go to work like a photo of Jack Kerouac. Smoking.
