Oct. 31: The Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden hosts nature-related art and craft projects, storytelling, games, music and face painting in honor of Halloween. Continuing: Orange County and Los Angeles designers will be featured in Casa California, a design house presented by California Homes Magazine and benefiting the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. Public tours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, through Nov. 8. Extended hours to 9 p.m. on Thursdays. $35. Spider Pavilion: Visitors can get up close with non-venomous spiders in this outdoor, walk-through exhibit on the Natural History Museum’s South Lawn. Reservations are required.
