A man was shot and wounded in a deputy-involved shooting late Friday morning in the Willowbrook area, authorities said.

The shooting took place in the 1900 block of East 118th Street at about 11 a.m., said Los Angeles County Sheriff Sgt. Diane Hecht.

“No deputies were injured,” she said. “The suspect was taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.”

Hecht said no additional details have been released yet about the shooting or what led to it.
