Southbound 5 Freeway lanes were reopened Thursday morning after a big rig jackknifed, but the northbound lanes in Glendale remained closed, the CHP said.
Authorities said the semi-truck was traveling north when it hit the center divider about 2:21 a.m. and jackknifed, blocking the northbound lanes and dumping debris across the southbound lanes.
The California Highway Patrol reopened the southbound lanes just after 6:30 a.m., but said the northbound traffic was still being diverted.
Officials said it was unclear whether the rain had anything to do with the accident.
