Power outage hits 15,000; blame the cat

A stray cat may be to blame for 15,000 Sacramento-area residents losing power Sunday, according to TV station KCRA.

A driver who swerved to avoid hitting a cat in the road struck a pole with power lines, causing the outage.

Electricity was restored to most people within two hours, according to the Sacramento Bee, which apparently didn’t get the scoop on the cat connection.
