Rihanna gets serious in her interview with Diane Sawyer

‘I stayed. I even went back after he [Chris Brown] beat me, which was wrong,’ R&B singer Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer.

‘But again ... I’m a human being and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal. And all these expectations, I’m not perfect.’

Rihanna sounds emotional and embarrassed as she speaks with Sawyer in an interview shown in part on ‘Good Morning America.’ The full interview airs Friday night on ‘20/20.’

Watch the video. The singer refers to stepping out of the situation and looking at it from the third person point of view -- seeing what others see? Interesting contrast, after we joked yesterday about Chris Brown on MTV talking about himself in the third person -- which one psychologist noted can be a way to distance oneself from responsibility...
