Zsa Zsa Gabor is in the hospital Sunday after breaking her hip in a fall from bed Saturday night, LA Now reports.
Gabor, who was watching TV in bed at her Bel-Air home, fell and broke several bones while reaching to answer the phone. Her husband, Prince Frederic Van Anhalt, told CNN that she’ll need surgery, possibly on Sunday.
[Updated at 8:21 a.m., July 19: Gabor’s hip replacement surgery was scheduled for 6 a.m. Monday. A news conference is scheduled for noon, CNN reports.
‘My mother is not in critical condition or at death’s door,’ daughter Constance Francesca Hilton told L.A. Now in a statement Monday. ‘She was on the phone in the hospital ... while having lunch.]
‘It’s a complicated thing,’ Von Anhalt said. ‘It was an accident. And she is not that young anymore.’
Zsa Zsa, the middle sister between the late Magda and Eva Gabor, is perhaps best known for her proto-celebrity glamour, ‘dahlink’; her career in film and TV; and her marriages -- seven of which ended in divorce, and one that was annulled after only one day.
Gabor, who is believed to be 93, married Von Anhalt in August 1986.
Zsa Zsa is ‘fragile,’ her publicist told LA Now, but ‘she’s still very bright -- she still makes me laugh. Her faculties are intact, but her body’s failing her.’
Gabor is at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood.
