‘40-Year-Old Virgin’ actor guilty of attempted murder

Actor Shelley Malil was convicted Thursday of attempted murder and other charged related to the 2008 stabbing of a former girlfriend in the San Diego area, L.A. Now reports.
Malil played one of Steve Carell’s co-workers in ‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin,’ as well as one of the ‘How Are You Doing?’ guys in that Budweiser Super Bowl commercial.
On the stand last week, Malil admitted he had stabbed Kendra Beebe more than 20 times, but said he didn’t know it was her he was stabbing. Earlier in the trial, a former employee at Beebe’s insurance company told of naked pictures of a couple having sex that were e-mailed by Malil to workers in three of the company’s offices the night before the attack.
The case went to the jury on Wednesday.
Malil was convicted of premeditated attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, plus assault on David Maldonado, who was with Beebe at her home. Malil was found not guilty of residential burglary.
He faces 21 years to life in prison.
