It seems like just yesterday that Heather Locklear was wearing a badge on ‘T.J. Hooker,’ silk on ‘Dynasty’ and a bemused, tearful expression in a mug shot after an arrest on suspicion of DUI. Actually, just yesterday, Sunday, the resilient Heather Locklear turned 50.

That 2008 DUI charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal -- and then there were those hit-and-run suspicions (also dismissed) involving Locklear’s BMW and a no-parking sign. But Locklear, like her blond hairdo, has retained her bounce over the years.

She survived Tommy Lee, and then the end of her 11-year second marriage, to Richie Sambora, drew attention that was at times lurid. The split was classified by one news outlet as among ‘the ugliest breakups in Hollywood history.’ But Locklear later plunked herself down right next to Sambora at a soccer match in which daughter Ava was competing. Yes, that was two years after the divorce was finalized, but hey, goodwill is always a plus.

A few weeks ago, she became engaged to her ‘Melrose Place’ costar Jack Wagner. There was talk of a reality show, but apparently that’s no longer in the works. She recently worked on a CBS comedy pilot, ‘The Assistants,’ in which she played a spoiled actress with four assistants. But the network passed on it for fall.

Locklear likely will continue to bounce back. Her daughter has a small role in the upcoming Judd Apatow movie, ‘This Is Forty.’ Chances are, Mama Locklear will be at that premiere wearing something teeny-tiny -- and hardly looking her age.
