Do not allow yourselves to be duped about the situation of ‘The Situation.’ So says Michael Sorrentino, the ‘Jersey Shore’ reality TV star, who tweeted Wednesday morning regarding his reported stay in rehab:
‘Do NOT Believe Everything You Hear, Especially from TMZ.’
What TMZ said was that the Situation was in rehab for substance abuse after being on ‘a nonstop party train.’ Radar Online also was touting an exclusive that said prescription pills were at the root of the alleged problem.
Both sites reported that Sorrentino’s representative was denying that he was in rehab. Radar Online quoted the rep: ‘He is not in rehab for substance abuse.’ That’s a pretty flat denial.
The rep went on to say that Sorrentino had spent the last several weeks getting ‘rest and recuperation’ at an ‘undisclosed location.’
Sorrentino’s tweet links to his Sitch News, where the story is hazier than his rep’s denial. It calls the TMZ story ‘ridiculous embellishments’ and compares it to ‘the child hood game of ‘telephone’ -- someone hears a small rumor and blows it out of proportion.’
Which is neither confirmation nor denial. Either way, it’s good to hear that the Situation is getting help ... with getting his rest.
He’ll need it as ‘Jersey Shore’ returns for a sixth season. As Show Tracker reported Monday, ‘When its star meatball gets pregnant, another season is inevitable.’ That’s a reference to ‘Shore’ star Snooki, who confirmed earlier this month that she was expecting a mini-meatball.
