Yes, it is a house made of cargo containers. It’s in Redondo Beach. And, no, we don’t know why someone decided that would be a neat thing to do. We found it on Curbed LA, which reports ‘It’s the first two-story residential cargo container-based structure approved under Uniform Building Code standards.’ Which means all those other homes made of cargo containers sprouting up on the Westside are not built to code. (That last part was a joke). The Times wrote about this home last summer, calling it ‘eye-catching in its oddity.’
