About 9,500 children’s loungewear outfits were recalled by Warm Biscuit Bedding Co. and the Consumer Product Safety Commission today for not meeting federal flammability standards.

The outfits, sold under the names Lounge-Around-the-Housewear, Lounge-About-Housewear or Short Sets, included tags inside saying, ‘These garments do not comply with the Federal Flammability Standards and therefore are not suitable for sleepwear,’ according to the commission’s recall statement.

Despite the tags, the outfits were recalled because federal standards require children’s sleepwear and loungewear to be snug-fitting or flame-resistant, and these were neither. No injuries have been reported.

The sets were sold in a variety of colors and printed fabrics and had the style numbers 301101, 301102 and 301103 printed on the packaging, the statement said.

The outfits were sold in Warm Biscuit Bedding catalogs and at www.warmbiscuit.com from January 2000 to March 2009 for $39 to $45, the commission said.

Consumers should stop using the clothing immediately and contact Warm Biscuit for a store credit by going online, by phone at (800) 231-4231 or by mail at 140 Fulton St., New York, NY 10038.
