Baby Jogger strollers recall is caused by faulty seatbelts

A faulty seatbelt has prompted the recall of about 41,000 Baby Jogger City Mini strollers, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission and stroller maker Baby Jogger.

The seatbelt buckle on the stroller can break or unlatch, allowing a child or infant to fall out, the commission said on its website.

The agency has asked parents to stop using the strollers immediately.

The City Mini strollers were sold nationwide in children’s stores, department stores and online retail websites such as www.amazon.com from November 2007 to July 2009 for about $220 to $400.

The strollers were built in China for the Richmond, Va., company and sold in both single-seat and double-seat models, the commission said late Friday.
