Wall Street Roundup: Money market vulnerability. Tourre headed to trial?

Few good signals. In advance of the Federal Reserve’s announcement on the economy on Tuesday, reports show that worker productivity is down, as is the economic optimism of small-businesses owners.

Money market vulnerability. A new report from Moody’s suggests that more ultra-safe money market funds were vulnerable to collapse during the financial crisis than has been known.

SEC suit against Tourre. The Securities and Exchange Commission’s case against Goldman Sachs Group Inc. trader Fabrice P. Tourre could be heading to trial as settlement negotiations appear to have fallen apart.

The root of the problem. North Korea has offered to pay some of its debts with ginseng, ‘an invigorating root used in dietary supplements,’ after failing to come up with the cash to pay.
