As McDonald’s brings back its McRib sandwich (500 calories, pressed pork, no ribs), aficionados are not just eating but are blogging, tweeting and Facebooking their experiences. And also writing haiku.
Brian Goodman, 27, of Grand Forks, N.D., had his first McRib in about 10 years Monday, after his wife, Chilly, bought one and drove it to him at work.
‘I am a huge fan of the McRib and I am glad to have it back,’ Goodman said. ‘I just happen to find this really gross, deformed pork patty to be delicious.’
Goodman said many of his friends hate the McRib -- ‘despise’ is the word he used. So to win them over (or annoy them), he’s written the following haiku.
Oh McRib my love
Pork patties on tasty bread
I eat you for lunch
