BEIJING -- Branislav Jevtic, Serbia’s deputy chef de mission, told Reuters that an official protest was filed with swimming’s international governing body (FINA) over the finish in the 100-meter butterfly.

FINA has not yet confirmed that.

But FINA officials have called a press conference in five minutes to discuss the timing system at the Water Cube.

Update: Jevtic and his swimmer seem to be in a disagreement regarding the race that was awarded to Michael Phelps.

Jevtic: ‘We have made an official protest. It’s first place, it is very important.’

Milorad Cavic: ‘If it was up to me I would drop the protest, I didn’t want to fight it.’
