Taylor Phinney eliminated in cycling competition

BEIJING -- American Taylor Phinney lost to Hayden Rouston of New Zealand in the 4,000-meter individual pursuit Saturday.

Rouston’s time was 4 minutes 19.232 seconds, while Phinney finished in 4:25.544 and was eliminated.
