BEIJING -- Well, the Cathy Freeman moment was not to be on Thursday night, not with the absence of national hero/icon Liu Xiang in the 110-meter hurdles.

No surprises, either.

And very little suspense as world-record holder Dayron Robles of Cuba won with relative ease, in 12.93 seconds. David Payne of the United States and teammate David Oliver took silver and bronze, in 13.17 and 13.18, respectively.
