Here’s one from the deja-vu-all-over-again department: A bunch of movie hackers use the Internet to discuss and circulate a tool to circumvent the electronic locks on Hollywood’s high-definition discs. The companies that supply the locks send letters to the sites where the tool is posted, demanding that the information be removed. Eventually, the public notices and freaks out.
