Who said oil and water don’t mix?

In Friday’s Letters to the Editor, readers sound off on an op-ed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, arguing for adoption of a compromise water bond proposal; a piece about a defunct offshore drilling project in Hermosa Beach; and an editorial arguing that Exxon deserves a break.

Sherman Oaks resident Prentiss Moore thinks Barack Obama is the one who deserves a break. Harbor City resident Carlie Harris, Sr. says taggers don’t. And Nina Brice, of Laguna Woods, pays tribute to former Times columnist Steve Harvey:

The column was addictive for word junkies--always interesting and fun to share over coffee in the morning. We miss it very, very much. Please reconsider your decision to eliminate Steve’s column.
