Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman has a message for Democrats about her taxes: I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.

In her first full news conferences in six months, Whitman said she would release her taxes as soon as her gubernatorial rival, Jerry Brown, releases his.

‘When he releases taxes, I will,’ Whitman said Friday. ‘And we are prepared to release 25 years of taxes.’

Whitman has come under attack from Democratic groups for failing to release her tax returns. Republican candidate Steve Poizner has committed to releasing his taxes but has not yet done so.
