The stage of the first gubernatorial debate has Democratic Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown at the lectern on the left. Former EBay chief Meg Whitman, a Republican, is on the right. Subtle messaging?
They shared a handshake as they arrived on stage.
In between are the three media panelists asking the questions: KCRA’s Kevin Riggs, the Sacramento Bee’s Amy Chance and Capital Public Radio’s Marianne Russ.
Brown arrived onstage in a suit and blue tie. Whitman strode in wearing a business suit, as well, with a purple blouse. Their hair? Brown: still bald. Whitman: still with her signature blond bob.
