Steve Cooley fundraising pitch predicts Jerry Brown victory

Republican Steve Cooley has big plans for the day after election day -- raising money.

The GOP candidate for attorney general has reserved the owners suite at Arco Arena in Sacramento for a Nov. 3 game between the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers. ‘We have 20 tickets for this game, so we must reserve the seats for new commitments only. Tickets start at $2,500 per person,’ a fundraising letter states.

Cooley is in a tight race with Democrat Kamala Harris.

Although the letter predicts a Cooley victory, it portends gloom and doom for the state’s Republican ticket: ‘Steve is the only Republican ahead in the polls and the only candidate strong enough to stand up to Jerry Brown and the Democratic establishment during the next four years.’

Hey, if the rest of the ticket is in fact going down, why not try to cash in in the process, right?
