Jay-Z, Kanye West combine as ‘The Throne,’ announce tour dates

Six days after debuting the soulfully sampled new single ‘Otis’ from their forthcoming effort ‘Watch the Throne,’ Jay-Z and Kanye West have announced 24 North American tour dates in support of the album, beginning Sep. 22 in Detroit.
According to Billboard, tickets will be made available through Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Fans who buy their tickets online will receive a digital copy of the album. The duo is scheduled to roll into Staples Center for two nights, Oct. 19-20.
But before they made plans to hit the road there was still one piece of the puzzle needed to make their partnership complete: a name. Though it’s not a complete shocker, the two rappers have officially christened themselves ‘The Throne.’
However, this sweet news comes with a little bit of salt. The album, originally scheduled for an Aug. 1 digital release, won’t be released on iTunes until Aug. 8 when tickets for the tour go on sale. The physical release is slated to hit shelves Aug. 12. Check out the list of confirmed tour dates for The Throne (should we really start calling them that?) after the jump.
