Looks like sunset for ‘Studio 60’

When NBC announces its new fall schedule to advertisers in New York Monday, don’t expect to see ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’ in the lineup.

One of the most hyped shows from last year’s upfronts, Aaron Sorkin’s drama within a comedy will burn off its remaining episodes this summer and is then expected to join the crowded graveyard of dead television shows.

Two other NBC shows expected to be clutching a one-way ticket to Palookaville by Monday are the crime drama series ‘Crossing Jordan’ and the Irish mob series set in Hell’s Kitchen, ‘The Black Donnellys.’

NBC’s comedy ‘Scrubs’ appears to have hung on for an abbreviated seventh season of 18 episodes, according to tvguide.com. But even if NBC doesn’t pick up the show -- nominated for outstanding comedy series the past two years -- ABC is rumored to be poised to adopt it, in no small part, because it’s produced by its sister studio, ABC studios.
