Rumors of writers being paid to strike are false, WGA says

It’s just not true.
That’s what a WGA spokeswoman says about rumors making the rounds that writers are being paid to walk the picket lines. The rumors in some cases also add specifics that may be designed to give them an air of authenticity. (One comment left on an latimes.com message board said that picketing writers were being paid $400 a day.)
‘’No, we are not paying the writers for picketing,’ said Sherry Goldman, spokeswoman for WGA East. ‘They absolutely do not get paid.’
