During this morning’s news conference, Fox executives were giddy with excitement over launching shows by TV top guns J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon.

‘When they walk into your office, how can you not say yes?’ President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly said.

But if they’re so special, why are they in the vertigo-inducing nosebleed seats at City Center -- in the company of peon correspondents like yours truly?
