As the ‘Today’ show came to a close, its co-anchors, Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer grew philosophical. About how great their jobs are.

Vieira said, ‘I think the hardest thing is not getting emotional.... You want to laugh, you want to cry.’

Lauer said that part of the historic import of the day for him personally was that he was covering the swearing in of ‘the first president who’s younger than we are.’

To which Tom Brokaw replied, ‘Been there, done that.’
