The Last Truck: Closing of a GM Plant: After General Motors announces the closing of an assembly plant in Moraine, Ohio, the workers who have been abruptly put out of work reminisce about their time on the factory line in this poignant documentary from Ohio filmmakers Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert (9 p.m. HBO).

Manson: This two-hour special chronicles the nine months leading up to cult leader Charles Manson’s 1969 crime spree in which his young followers committed one of the most horrific mass murders in American history, with pregnant actress Sharon Tate among the victims. Cult member Linda Kasabian, later the star witness for the prosecution, provides an insider’s perspective on the nightmarish event (9 p.m. History).

The Simpsons Movie: Homer, Bart and their Springfield neighbors and relatives hit the big screen in the summer of 2007 in this spinoff of cartoonist Matt Groening’s long-running Fox series.
