‘Caprica’ countdown: An exclusive new trailer and the home planet

On Day 2 of the ‘Caprica’ countdown, we look at an exclusive trailer that reveals a bit more about the overall storyline, its possible direction and some of the familial, societal and ethical boundaries that the series will most likely cross. The teaser was presented recently at the Television Critics Association press tour and hasn’t been seen publicly.
A lot of questions are asked in the promo and buried within the family drama will probably be the age-old question that shows like ‘Star Trek’ have asked and answered in pretty much every incarnation they had: At what point is something considered to be an active lifeform? Guess every space-faring planet has to go through it, even the mighty crown jewel of the 12 colonies, Caprica. Though you’ll get to know it soon enough, here’s a description of the planet (that sounds a bit familiar):
A lush blue and green world with a mild climate, Caprica is currently the only unquestioned superpower of the colonies. Its economy and popular culture fuel the colonies. Caprica is primarily a secular planet of comfort, safety, and wealth, beginning now to grapple with a disaffected youth culture.
