Did you like ‘The Incredibles’?
ABC has picked up ‘No Ordinary Family,’ the dramatic live-action version of ‘The Incredibles’ as its first new series for the fall.
It stars Michael Chiklis (‘The Shield’) and Julie Benz (‘Dexter’) as Jim and Stephanie Powell. Jim is a frustrated police sketch artist and Stephanie is a successful scientist. Their ho-hum life changes when Stephanie takes Jim and her two teenage children on a trip to the Amazon and their plane crashes. They survive and, when they return home, the four of them discover they have developed extraordinary abilities.
Wait, is this ‘The Incredibles’ or ‘Lost: Part 2’?
Just teasing. Jim has super strength, Stephanie is as fast as lightning, Daphne can hear everyone’s thoughts and JJ’s got a super brain. They decide to use their new abilities for the greater good — stopping crime. But what they don’t know is that the pilot they left for dead has woken up at the bottom of a river.
The rest of the cast is: Autumn Reeser (‘Entourage’), Romany Malco (‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin’), Jimmy Bennett (‘Hostage’), Kay Panabaker (‘Summerland’), Christina Chang, and Tate Donovan (‘The O.C.’).
Created by Greg Berlanti and Jon Feldman (both from ‘Brothers & Sisters), this pickup is no surprise. The project has had super buzz behind it since it was picked up.
