If you plan to tune in to the season premiere of HBO’s “Entourage” or “Hung” this Sunday, consider having your phone nearby. TV is about to get communal in a whole new way.

There’s yet another iPhone application on the market, and it’s looking to reinvent the way TV fans watch

The free Philo app allows users to “tune in” to TV programs, then discuss shows in a newsfeed-like dialogue stream while they’re watching: Think Twitter meets Foursquare.

Users can see what’s trending and can, maybe, discover shows they’d never seen. For those unashamed with letting even more people know about their TV viewing habits, the updates can be posted on Facebook and Twitter.

Foursquare-esque badges are available for users who check in to programs frequently. The first show-specific badges that users can unlock by watching particular shows were released today: fans of Vincent Chase and the rest of the “Entourage” gang get the “Medellín’; “Hung” enthusiasts can unlock the “O Face” (which happens to be an “Office Space” reference) badge.

The Season 2 premiere of “Hung” airs Sunday at 10 p.m., followed by the Season 7 premiere of “Entourage” at 10:30 p.m.

Will you be tuning in and typing?
