As the troubling details of what transpired in Fantasia Barrino’s home on Monday night emerged, VH1 executives and the producers of her reality show were trying to figure out how it would affect production.

The second season of ‘Fantasia For Real,’ is currently in production and scheduled to premiere on Sept. 19. Although the network does not know if Barrino’s health problems will delay the premiere of the show, it issued a statement Tuesday in support of the ‘American Idol’ champion.

“We support Fantasia 100% and look forward to working with her again soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with her at this difficult time.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Barrino’s manager, Brian Dickens, issued an unusually detailed statement about the 26-year-old singer’s distraught state on Monday after learning that a North Carolina woman accused her of breaking up her marriage in divorce papers.

Dickens said that Barrino ‘took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid’ because she felt ‘heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused.’ In the statement, Dickens acknowledged that Barrino had a relationship with the man but only because she believed he was separated.

After Dickens released that statement, Radar Online published what appears to be a police report from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, which states that police responded to a ‘suicide’ call at the Glynmoor Lakes neighborhood home of the singer. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department did not return calls from The Times on Tuesday.

Dickens did not return calls Tuesday afternoon about the police report. In the statement, Dickens said Barrino would be released from the hospital ‘soon.’

Barrino’s third album, ‘Back to Me,’ is scheduled to be released on Aug. 24. Representatives at J Records, Barrino’s label, did not return phone calls on Tuesday.
