NBC is developing a prime-time news magazine that will likely be hosted by ‘Nightly News’ anchor Brian Williams, a person familiar with the planning confirmed on Thursday.

Though the show is still in the very early stages of development, there’s a good chance that it will involve other NBC correspondents. (No deals have been made yet.) Someone involved with the project said the news division likes to find new ways to showcase its talent.

The Wall Street Journal broke the news on Thursday, reporting that outgoing ‘Today’ co-host Meredith Vieira is expected to contribute to the show, which could premiere as soon as this fall.

NBC will unveil its fall schedule during a presentation on Monday in New York.
