For those who thought Sam Querrey’s encouraging performance against Rafael Nadal in the U.S. Open --the Thousand Oaks product won a set -- think again.

Spain, playing on clay, took a 2-0 lead on the first day of the semifinals against the United States.

It’s not encouraging. The U.S. doubles team, which plays tomorrow, is missing half the Bryan-Bryan team because of an injury.

And then turn to the Ryder Cup on ESPN. The United States is faring better there.
